Accord Party presents certificate of return to candidates in Lagos

The Accord Party in Lagos State on Friday presented Certificates of Return to 28 candidates for various elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony on in Lagos, the Accord Party Chairman in the state, Mr Dele Oladeji, urged the candidates to remain committed to the party’s ideals and provide credible leadership if elected.

Oladeji, who noted that the candidates emerged through consensus, described the move as part of efforts to strengthen its participation in the forthcoming elections.

He said the event signalled party’s readiness for a statewide electoral contest.

“Accord Party is fielding candidates for the governorship, the three senatorial districts, 16 House of Representatives seats and eight State House of Assembly constituencies,” Oladeji said.

Those presented with the certificate of return were the governorship candidate, three senatorial district candidates,16 candidates for the Federal House of Representatives candidates and eight house of assembly candidates were unveiled at the programme.

The party’s governorship candidate is Otitoloju Sowore.

The senatorial candidates are – Oladele Oladeji (Lagos West), Oladimeji Wahab (Lagos Central) and Blessing Maduka-Sunday (Lagos East).

House of Representatives candidates David Dosunmu (Mushin II), Olajide Lawal (Ajeromi-Ifelodun), Joseph Taiwo (Badagry), Muyiwa Oyetola (Eti-Osa), Rasheed Ashogbon (Somolu) and Yetunde Adetutu (Ifako-Ijaiye).

Also on the list are Anthony Babatunde (Ikorodu), Mayowa Odeyingbo (Alimosho) and Okwor Prince Moses (Amuwo-Odofin).

The remaining House of Representatives candidates are Isa Adam (Agege), Jane Obinna (Epe), Chinyere Akabueze (Ibeju-Lekki), Daramola Idowu (Mushin I), Oluwarotimi Ajibola (Oshodi I) and Adekola Obafemi (Oshodi II).
