A presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has ruled out a litigation over the outcome of the party’s May 25 presidential primaries.
Former Vice President Atiku defeated Hayatu-Deen and a former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to pick the ADC presidential ticket for the 2027 election.
However, two other factions of the ADC headed by a former presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu and a former deputy national chairman, Nafiu Bala-Gombe, held parallel primaries and produced separate candidates for the party.
In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, Hayatu-Deen expressed concerns over alleged irregularities and procedural lapses during the exercise.
He noted that the process fell short of his expectations.
The aspirant pointed out that his decision not to challenge the outcome of the primary election held across the country followed careful reflection and extensive consultations.

He stressed that a strong, credible, and united opposition is more important than personal ambition or temporary political disappointment.
The aspirant said he joined the ADC because he believed the party offered an opportunity to build a credible opposition platform anchored on integrity, internal democracy and national renewal.
“Everywhere I went, I encountered what I have come to describe as the silent majority. These are Nigerians who still believe that leadership matters,” Hayatu-Deen stated.
He said he had privately communicated his concerns regarding the primary process to the party leadership and expressed confidence that they would be reviewed.
