The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is poised for a significant escalation of its kinetic operations across the country, following a high-level operational meeting where the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, summoned all Air Component Commanders from every ongoing operation nationwide.
The CAS specifically directed the commanders to immediately intensify the tempo of precision air strikes targeting terrorists, insurgents, and various armed criminal gangs plaguing the nation.
Air Force spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed the meeting, noting the attendance of top operational commanders from every theatre of conflict — from the forests of Zamfara to the riverine enclaves of the Niger Delta and the rugged terrain of the North-East.
Addressing the field commanders, the Air Chief stressed that the evolving nature of threats across theatres required absolute agility, precision, and intelligence-driven warfare, alongside the synchronisation of air, land, and maritime operations to achieve joint mission success.

Air Marshal Aneke issued a powerful, concise directive that sets the standard for future engagements: “We must fly smarter and strike harder, not only to neutralise threats but to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians. Every mission must reflect professionalism, purpose, and patriotism.”
He further outlined the strategic mandate for all theatres of operation, emphasizing inter-service synergy. “Our operations must be intelligence-led, coordinated, and focused. We will continue to work closely with the sister services and other security agencies to ensure a united front in the fight against terrorism and criminality,” he said.
