The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Kayamo, said the crew members of the private jet that landed on a concrete road under construction in the Ogwashi-Uku area, near Asaba, have been detained pending investigation.

He disclosed this in a statement on X on Wednesday.

DAILY POST reports that the NCAA reports had grounded the private jet and withdrawn the operator’s permit for non-commercial flight (PNCF).

Providing details on the incident, Kayamo said the aircraft was grounded over a serious breach of regulations and security.

The minister said the aircraft, after landing in Asaba Road, took off for Lagos State with approvals.

“I have also spoken to relevant security agencies, and I have been assured that the crew are in their custody and they are assisting them with their investigation,” he stated.
