Ayekooto Akindele, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has claimed that former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman’s alleged fraud was responsible for the failure of the immediate past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.
DAILY POST reports that Adelabu, who recently resigned from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet to pursue his governorship ambition, was tagged a failure over the poor state of power supply in the country.
Meanwhile, Mamman is currently in custody over alleged money laundering and fraud amounting to N33.8 billion, connected to the diversion of funds from the Mambilla and Zungeru hydropower projects.
He was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Kaduna State on Tuesday.
Reacting to his arrest, Ayekooto, in a post on his official X handle, claimed that the immediate past Minister of Power spent two years solving problems allegedly created by Mamman.
He wrote, “While some gullible haters of Adelabu tagged him OLOKUNKUN-BIRIMU, one of the actual people who caused the problem that Adelabu was solving for over two years has just been captured by the EFCC.”
