The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the Kwara governorship primary election to Friday.

The APC Chairman in the state, Mr.
Sunday Fagbemi, disclosed this to journalists in Ilorin during Thursday’s primary election.

Fagbemi said the national leadership of the party directed that the exercise be shifted, though no reason was given for the postponement.

He said: “We do not have details for the cancellation other than the fact that the team from the national office came and instructed that the election should be held tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, eight governorship aspirants on Thursday reportedly stepped down for Amb. Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki, the preferred successor of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

This followed a decision reached after a strategic meeting held on Wednesday evening with Seriki and other stakeholders in the state.
