An armed bandit has been arrested by security forces after a gun battle in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The incident was contained in a post shared on X on Monday by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.
According to Makama, the clash occurred around 4:55 p.m. on December 21 along the Tsafe–Yanwaren Daji feeder road.
Zagazola Makama said bandits had blocked the road and disrupted movement when a security patrol team arrived at the scene.
“The team engaged the criminals in a gunfight, forcing them to flee with gunshot injuries.
“During the encounter, one of the bandits was arrested. He was identified as Umar Alhaji Buhari, also known as Bingel.
“The road was later cleared, allowing motorists and other road users to continue their journeys without obstruction,”Makama wrote.
The arrested suspect has been handed over to the police at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Gusau for further investigation.
