The Commander, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3, Operation WHIRL STROKE, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, has urged officers and soldiers to use the West African Social Activities, WASA, celebration as an opportunity to renew their commitment to discipline, loyalty, teamwork, and unity across ranks and cultures.
Brigadier General Uwa gave the charge at the weekend while serving as the special guest of honour at the maiden WASA 2025 of 114 Battalion (Rear), held at the Battalion Parade Ground in Jimilari, Lau Local Government Area of the state.
The event, as noticed by our reporter, brought together officers, soldiers, their families, and friends of the Battalion to celebrate unity, tradition, and esprit de corps.
The brigade commander commended the commanding officer, officers, and soldiers of 114 Battalion (Rear) for their discipline, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
He noted that the Battalion’s roles in operational support, administration, and regimentation remain vital to the overall success of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 of Operation WHIRL STROKE.
He also applauded the spouses and families of the troops for their patience, resilience, and unwavering support, describing their sacrifices as essential to sustaining morale and operational effectiveness within the Nigerian Army.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Commanding Officer of 114 Battalion (Rear), Major John Kopji Datol, described the occasion as historic, noting that it marked the first WASA celebration in the history of the Battalion.
He expressed appreciation to the commander, 6 Brigade, for his continuous support, particularly in the areas of welfare, training, operations, and regimentation.
