Arsenal defeated Chelsea 2-1 in a Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday night.
Manchester City had heaped pressure on the Gunners by cutting their lead to two points with 1-0 victory at Leeds on Saturday.
But with two trademark corners, Arsenal beat 10-man Chelsea to restore their five-point lead.
Chelsea forward, Pedro Neto, who was already on a yellow card, saw red with 20 minutes left to play, leaving the visitors with 10 men as they struggled to fight back.

The win puts Arsenal on 64 points, five clear of Manchester City, having played a game more than their rivals.
Earlier in the day, Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi scored to help Fulham secure a 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Fulham gained a deserved victory to boost their hopes of qualifying for European football.
Meanwhile, at Old Trafford, Manchester United fought back to beat 10-man Crystal Palace 2-1 and go third in the Premier League amid penalty controversy and a contentious red card decision.
