Atiku floors Amaechi in Gombe ADC presidential primaries

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has emerged the winner of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Presidential Primary Election in Gombe State.

The Returning Officer, Prof David Agbu, who made the announcement, said Atiku polled 139,334 votes to emerge as the winner of the exercise in the state, defeating former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Ameachi and others.

Giving the breakdown, Agbu said Amaechi scored 1,150 votes, while Muhammad Hayatu-Deen got 465 votes in the exercise, which he said was conducted peacefully across the state.

According to him, a total of 140,949 registered party members cast their votes during the primary election, out of the 160,982 registered members of the ADC in the state.

“From these results, Atiku scored the highest votes in the election and is hereby declared as the winner of the primary election in Gombe State, held today on May 25, 2026,” he said.

Recall that ADC in the state had earlier announced Atiku as their sole candidate ahead of the presidential primary election.
