The leader of the failed coup in Benin Republic, Colonel Pascal Tigri, has reappeared in a video.

In the footage, the coup leader appeals for support from the Beninese population while urging France not to intervene in the ‘operation’.

DAILY POST reported that soldiers in Benin Republic on Sunday attempted to seize power from the constitutional government.
The country later confirmed that several of the coup plotters, including some of the leaders, have been arrested.

Authorities in the small West African nation stated that thirteen suspects are currently in custody.

The soldiers had appeared on national television on Sunday morning, claiming that President Patrice Talon had been removed from office.

The coup leader, speaking in French in the video, said the operation was for the benefit of the people.
