Hull City beat Middlesbrough 1-0 in the Championship play-off final on Saturday, to win promotion to the Premier League.
They become the first team since Blackpool to finish in sixth place during the regular season and still go up.
The decisive goal came in the 94th minute, after Oli McBurnie pounced on a goalkeeper error to prod in the winner.
Sol Brynn punched a cross into the area and McBurnie reacted quickest to score.
Hull City will join Coventry City and Ipswich Town in the Premier League next season.
For Boro, who were reinstated despite a semi-final loss after Southampton’s ‘Spygate’ scandal, it is another campaign in England’s second tier.
