Bryan Mbuemo's transfer to Manchester United suffers a setback

6 hours ago 2

The desire of Manchester United to sign Bryan Mbuemo have suffered a huge setback after the Brentford failed to agree on the fee presented by the Red Devils.

United were looking to bring in Bryan Mbuemo as its second signing of the summer after the announcement of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Brazilian was signed a few weeks after the completion of the 2024/25 season after reaching an initial agreement with the forward.

Brentford have rejected two offers for Bryan Mbeumo within the past month. An initial bid of £55m was turned down by the Bees, followed by a revised offer of £60m, which is not up to the transfer fee placed on the player.

Brentford are insisting on a figure close to £65m, and reports suggest there is still a significant gap between the two clubs' valuations. The Bees are already planning for life after Mbuemo as they are looking at the possibility of bringing Omari Hutchinson to the Community Stadium.

However, the Cameroonian is not the only person who will be absent from the squad when the new season begins. The former head coach Thomas Frank has also left his role as their head coach to join Tottenham Hotspur who will replace Ange Postecoglou.
