Catholic Priest, Fada Angelo Chidi Unegbu has appealed to the US President, Donald Trump, not to hesitate in coming to take out the perpetrators of alleged Christian massacre in Nigeria.
Trump had vowed that the US department of war would intervene in the security crisis rocking the nation to end the decade-long terrorism.
There has been tension across the country over a possible strike by the US military as Trump insists on tackling the alleged persecution of Christians.
Government officials and several Muslim stakeholders have, however, continued to deny the alleged genocide, stating that both Christians and Muslims are victims of terrorism in Nigeria.
But in a statement on his official Facebook page Thursday, Fada Angelo backed the genocide claims, insisting that “there is Christian genocide. There is ethnic cleansing. There is political genocide. There are those killing for wealth. All this should stop”.
The Catholic Priest claimed that the reactions of the “Nigerian government since Donald Trump’s statements about Nigeria clearly demonstrate that Nigeria has never truly fought terrorism, as it has always claimed”.
According to him, soldiers who lost their lives fighting terrorists were simply deceived. What an agonising death! I deeply feel sorry for those who lost their lives in the bush under the guise of fighting terrorism. Poor, patriotic comrades”.
“Let President Trump please come quickly. Every delay is dangerous because people are dying”, Fada Angelo added.
