The Nigerian currency, the naira, appreciated against the American dollar at the official window on Thursday.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) foreign exchange data showed that the naira closed at N1,436.74/$1, as against the N1,438.49/$1 it traded on Wednesday.
This represents a gain of N1.75 for the local currency against the American greenback.

The naira depreciated by N10 against the dollar to trade at N1,470/$1, compared to the previous day’s rate of N1,460/$1.
The local currency also lost N20 against the British Pound to trade at N1,950/£1 as against the previous day’s rate of N1,930/£1.
It, however, closed flat against the Canadian dollar to trade at N1,100/CA$1.
The naira lost N10 against the Euro to trade at ₦1,690/€1 as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,680/€1.
