Comedian Steve Martin has announced the cancellation of two upcoming shows on his The Dukes of Funnytown! tour with Martin Short after testing positive for COVID-19.  The affected performances include Friday nights show at The Dome in Virginia Beach and Saturdays scheduled stop at Richmonds Allianz Amphitheater at the Riverfront. Martin shared the news with fans on social media, explaining that he cant possibly do the shows audiences deserve and promising that the performances will return under better circumstances. He also posted his positive COVID-19 test result online, noting that he tested negative for influenza.  This is not the first time the comedy duo has had to postpone shows due to Martin contracting the virus. Earlier this year in February, two performances were canceled after he caught COVID-19 following the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary special. Despite the setback, Martin kept his update lighthearted, joking that he had contracted the virus after kissing fellow performer Maya Rudolph.  Fans are being advised to check with the venues for rescheduled dates and ticketing updates. The post Comedian Steve Martin cancels show after contracting COVID-19 appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
