Constituency delineation: Thugs attack protesting Itsekiri youths at INEC headquarters 

There was tension at the Abuja headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Monday when thugs allegedly hired by yet-to-be-identified persons attacked Ugbarajo Itsekiri youths.

The youths were said to be protesting against what they described as the unjust delineation of the Warri Federal Constituency in Delta State.

Numbering about 200, the Itsekiri youths converged on INEC Headquarters in demanding justice from the Commission.

They carried placards with different inscriptions including ‘INEC must protect indigenous communities’, ‘Warri Federal Constituency is not for sale’, ‘

Justice for Itsekiri Communities Now’ and ‘Dollars Cannot Buy Our Land.’
