A Magistrate Court in Kano has ordered the Hisbah Board to arrange the marriage of popular TikTok creator Ashiru Idris, better known as Mai Wushirya, and Basira Yar Guda within the next 60 days.
The order was given by Magistrate Halima Wali of Court No. 7, who also instructed the Kano State Film and Video Censorship Board to monitor and make sure the wedding takes place as directed.
The court warned that if the marriage is not conducted within the given period, both parties will be brought back before the court for further action.
This development comes after Mai Wushirya was earlier remanded in a correctional centre over a viral video showing him in what authorities described as “indecent acts” with Basira. The state’s Censorship Board said the video violated laws against producing or sharing immoral content.
The latest court order is part of the follow-up to that case, and the Hisbah Board has now been directed to ensure the marriage is carried out in line with the court’s instructions.
