The All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Ward C1, Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State, was disrupted on Saturday over candidate choice.

The constituency seat is a contest between Mr. Ganiyu Ayuba and Mrs Adebisi Adebajo.

At 1.45 p.m.when the Chairman of Alimosho LGA, Mr Akintunde Johnson, arrived at the ward, the party faithful started chanting the name of their preferred candidate.

The chairman is a well-known supporter of one of the aspirants.

The ugly scene led to the disruption of the exercise.

Speaking on the development, the immediate past APC Chairman at Alimosho, Mr Tosin Fatoki, said the election would no longer hold at the ward.

He said: “The primaries will no longer hold at this ward, with the intense division among party faithful on their preferred candidate.

“At the arrival of the Alimosho LGA chairman, you can observe upheaval among the erstwhile patient party members.

“With this upheaval, a lot of them have been dispersed, so no primaries can hold here today.”
