The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Rivers State Command, has deployed 1,230 personnel across the 23 local government areas to bolster security ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ihemnacho Umeado, operatives have been strategically stationed at Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, motor parks, markets, major road intersections, and other identified flashpoints across the state.

The State Commandant, Dr. Joachim Okafor, directed officers to remain vigilant and professional in their interactions with the public, emphasizing that their conduct must reflect the core values of the Corps.

He also stressed the need for continued collaboration among security agencies to ensure a peaceful festive period.

Okafor reassured residents of the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure, as well as protecting lives and property throughout the celebrations.

He warned that the Command would take decisive action against criminals, vandals, and other individuals seeking to disrupt public order.

The commandant also extended Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslim faithful, urging residents to remain law-abiding and promptly report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
