Arsenal are set to make Mikel Arteta one of the highest-paid managers in world football with a new contract, according to Mail Sport.
Arteta has led the Gunners to their first league title in 22 years this season.
This was confirmed on Tuesday night, after Manchester City failed to beat Bournemouth.
Arteta’s current deal was set to expire next summer, but talks over extending that deal are advanced, and an agreement would see him earn a huge pay hike.
Diego Simeone is thought to be the highest-paid manager in world football, picking up £26 million a year with Atletico Madrid. Arteta has been tipped to get close to that.
He is currently on around £10m a year, plus £5m for qualifying for the Champions League.
Pep Guardiola is on around £20m a year at Manchester City. Arteta will take over from his former boss as the longest-serving Premier League manager when he departs City this summer.
