EPL: Guardiola speaks on Man City’s 115 charges as he leaves club

Departing Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has insisted he trusts the club’s hierarchy, as a decision on their case with the Premier League looms over the summer.

Guardiola will take charge of City for the last time on Sunday, as they host Aston Villa.

The 55-year-old leaves the Etihad before a verdict is reached on the 115 charges of alleged financial impropriety.

Guardiola has reiterated the club’s innocence and even taken up an ambassadorial role.

He said: “There will be a resolution. I trust them, I trust them. Because I spoke with them and I trust how they behave and how they did.

“None of the staff, of the backroom staff or mainly the players and the manager were here. So it’s a long, long time ago. And I trust the club.”

Some of the alleged rule breaches happened between 2009 and 2018, a period when Guardiola had been manager for at least two years.
