The European Commission has accused four major p0rnographic platforms of failing to prevent children from accessing adult content, raising the possibility of significant fines under EU digital rules. In preliminary findings, the Commission said Pornhub, Stripchat, XNXX and XVideos allowed minors to access their platforms with minimal safeguards, often requiring only a simple confirmation that users are over 18.The EU said this approach fails to adequately protect childrens rights and well-being, in breach of its Digital Services Act rules. At the same time, the Commission has opened a separate investigation into Snapchat, amid concerns the platform may not be doing enough to safeguard younger users.Officials said the probe will examine whether Snapchat exposed minors to risks such as grooming attempts and content related to illegal activities, including drug sales. The investigation marks the first case against Snapchat under the EUs Digital Services Act.A spokesperson for Snapchat said user safety remains a priority. As online risks evolve, we continuously review, strengthen, and invest in these safeguards, the company said, adding that it has fully cooperated with the commission and will continue to work toward meeting regulatory standards. The developments come as regulators across Europe increase scrutiny of major online platforms over child safety and digital responsibility. The post EU accuses four p0rn platforms of failing to stop children from accessing adult content appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
