3 weeks ago 9

Former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon Hyacinth Dajoh, has formally joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after dumping the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to a press statement issued by his media aide, Agber Kulugh, the defection was confirmed in Makurdi, where Dajoh was received into the PDP by former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.

The statement said his exit from the APC followed prolonged internal disagreements and unsuccessful reconciliation efforts within the party.

Dajoh also participated in the PDP Benue North-West Senatorial Primary Election held in Makurdi, where Eunice Ortom was affirmed as the party’s senatorial candidate.

He reportedly reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance, unity, and community development, stating that his political decisions would continue to reflect the interests of constituents in Gboko West and Benue State at large.

The development adds to ongoing political realignments within Benue State ahead of future electoral contests.
