Former National President, Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, Igwe Achese, has reiterated the stance of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State that no blood of Rivers people is worth his being the governor of the state
Achese said this on Friday while featuring on ‘Prime Time’, a programme on Arise Television.
“The state has been so peaceful, and our thanks remains with Governor Fubara, Nyesom Wike and the president for fighting for peace.
“I lack words to express the sacrifices shown by Fubara over these six months of emergency rule in Rivers State.
“I will tell you that no individual being a governor or House of Representatives member would accept these kind of sacrifices Fubara has shown to Nigeria and to Rivers people.
“He stood to say that no blood of Rivers citizens is worth his being governor of the state, and therefore, won this peace and this peace pact is so dear to him.
“That’s what we are enjoying today in Rivers State. The state is so peaceful within the period under review of six months.
“There have been no crises, there have been no issues that one would want to allege that look Rivers State is not peaceful,” he said.
