Electoral materials for the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primary election in Benue State have been successfully distributed to all 23 local government areas ahead of today’s exercise.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, Governor Hyacinth Alia, who is serving as the Benue Central Returning Officer for the primaries, oversaw the distribution process at the party’s state secretariat.

According to the statement, the exercise commenced around 6:00 a.m., following the receipt of the electoral materials by the governor on Friday evening at Government House at about 8:00 p.m.

The statement added that Governor Alia later presented and displayed the election materials to party stakeholders at the APC State Secretariat before the commencement of distribution.

Present at the event were members of the State Working Committee led by Chief Benjamin Omale, local government party chairmen, local government executive chairmen, and other stakeholders within the party structure.

Governor Alia urged party members to conduct themselves peacefully during the primaries, stressing that the APC remains greater than any individual interest and that unity among members must be sustained.

He also directed local government returning officers to ensure eligible delegates are allowed to freely participate in the process of selecting the party’s flag bearer.

The governor further stated that the APC had performed creditably in delivering democratic dividends to the people and expressed confidence that the party would retain power at various levels in the forthcoming elections.
