Gov Alia, others set for Benue APC primary elections today

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia, a frontline contender under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is set to participate in the primary elections holding today in the state.

Other notable contenders in the process include Jeffrey Kuraun and Terwase Orbunde, as the party prepares to select its flag bearer ahead of the general elections.

Gov. Alia has called on the leadership of the APC at all levels to ensure a free, fair, credible, and transparent process that reflects the true will of party members.

He emphasised that internal democracy remains the foundation of the party’s strength and electoral success.

The governor also urged all party faithful, delegates, and stakeholders across Benue State to come out en masse and participate actively in the exercise.

He stressed the need for peace, maturity, and respect for party guidelines throughout the process.

According to a statement by the Technical Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Chief Solomon Iorpev, Gov. Alia reaffirmed his commitment to the unity and progress of the APC and called on all contenders to view the exercise as a brotherly contest aimed at strengthening the party to deliver good governance to the people.

He wished all aspirants success and prayed for a hitch-free and rancour-free primary election.
