The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has resigned his membership of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
He cited deepening internal crises and the need to safeguard the broader interest of the people of Kano State as the reasons for quitting the party.
The governor, according to a statement issued in Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sanusi Bature, announced his decision in a letter addressed to the NNPP chairman in Diso-Chiranchi Ward, Gwale Local Government Area of the state.
He thanked the party for the platform and support extended to him since 2022 .
The governor dumped the NNPP along with 21 members of the State House of Assembly, eight members of the House of Representatives, and 44 local governments chairmen in the state.

Although Governor was silent on his next political destination, there are rumours he has concluded plans to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) after he met the party national leadership in Abuja.
