Gunfire and Explosions Erupt in Somalia’s Capital, Residents Say

Residents of Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital, said government forces fought militia groups and heard sounds of rocket-propelled grenades on Thursday. Some residents fled their homes to escape the violence. No information of casualties was immediately available.
