The National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations, NACOMYO, Oyo State chapter, has urged the Oyo State Government led by Engineer Seyi Makinde to collaborate with security agencies and local communities in order to prevent a recurrence of Friday’s incident in the state.
NACOMYO made this declaration in a statement signed by its State Coordinator, Alhaji Dawood Afolabi.
The statement was made available to DAILY POST on Monday evening.
DAILY POST gathered that about 39 students and seven teachers were kidnapped in some communities in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

It was learnt that two people, including a teacher and a motorcyclist, were killed during the attack.
NACOMYO, in its reaction, expressed deep sorrow over the incident.
Afolabi, in the statement issued on behalf of NACOMYO, commended the security agencies for initiating rescue operations.
He, however, urged the state government to collaborate with security agencies and local communities in order to prevent a recurrence.
Afolabi also urged residents to remain vigilant.
He advised citizens to rise against all forms of criminality in the state.
“The National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO), Oyo State Chapter, expresses deep sorrow and unequivocal condemnation of the recent abduction of pupils, students, and school staff in parts of Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
“We commend the efforts of the Oyo State Police Command, the Inspector General of Police, and other security agencies for initiating rescue operations. We strongly urge them to intensify their efforts and ensure that all victims are rescued unharmed and reunited with their loved ones without delay.
“We sympathise with the Oyo State Government and also call on the government to collaborate closely with security agencies and local communities to strengthen security measures around schools, particularly in rural and vulnerable areas, to prevent any recurrence of such tragic incidents.”
