The Rivers State Police Command has rolled out security arrangement for the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, (JAMB), Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), deploying personnel and operational resources to all accredited Computer-Based Test, CBT, centers across the state.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga A. Adepoju, said the move is part of a proactive strategy aligned with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to guarantee a safe and orderly environment for candidates, examination officials, and other stakeholders throughout the exercise.

The statement, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Agabe Blessing Kaborlo, indicated that officers assigned to the operation have been given clear instructions to uphold professionalism, remain civil in their conduct, and act decisively against any form of examination malpractice, public disturbance, or security violation.

Personnel have also been directed to collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure adequate security within examination venues, surrounding areas, and access routes.

“The Command has also emplaced enhanced patrols, intelligence gathering, and traffic control measures around examination centres to ensure free movement and to forestall any security threats before, during, and after the examination.”

Adepoju further appealed to candidates, parents, guardians, and the general public to cooperate with security agencies and strictly observe all examination regulations to ensure a seamless process.

The Command warned that individuals or groups attempting to compromise the integrity of the examination would face strict legal consequences.

It reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, as well as maintaining peace and security across the state.

Residents were also encouraged to stay alert and promptly report suspicious activities through the Command’s emergency lines: Command Response Unit: 07057605209, 07057605256, 08120822987, 07072323049, and Control Room: 08032003514.
