The Katsina State Hisbah Board in Dutsinma Local Government Area has apprehended a native doctor and two women over alleged involvement in questionable spiritual activities.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the board’s information officer in Dutsinma, B. Yareema, said the arrest was carried out under the leadership of the local Hisbah commander, Malam Shafi’u Ibrahim, after the woman’s husband reportedly uncovered the alleged scheme.
According to the statement, the native doctor was accused of asking the married woman to provide her husband’s semen for the preparation of a charm he claimed would be highly potent.
The suspect was also alleged to have instructed the woman to visit him alone whenever her husband was absent so she could continue receiving the spiritual concoction.
Hisbah said the discovery of the alleged arrangement led the husband to divorce his wife.
The board added that preliminary investigations revealed the husband had also been consulting another female native doctor through the assistance of an unidentified woman, seeking help over what he suspected to be a spiritual attack against him.
The Hisbah Board stated that investigations into the matter are ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the case and determine the necessary disciplinary action.
