On January 27, 2026, a group of individuals reportedly entered Surulere Community Estate, Alagbado, claiming they were acting to enforce a court judgment on behalf of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).
Residents have stated that they were not served with any court documents, and that no prior notice or official enforcement process was communicated.
The Federal Housing Authority has since publicly distanced itself from the incident. According to residents, FHA officials visited the estate to post notices indicating that no authorization was given for any action to be carried out in its name. Reports further allege that the officials were prevented from completing their visit.
Despite petitions submitted to Zone 2 Command and the Lagos State Police Command, residents claim that security personnel have been present at the location, with concerns raised about their role during ongoing developments in the estate.
Additional concerns have emerged regarding financial transactions linked to the situation. Residents allege that over ₦300 million has been paid into accounts not officially connected to the FHA. One corporate account referenced has reportedly been associated with Jimoh Ejigbadero, Executive Chairman of Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA.
These developments have prompted calls for a thorough investigation into possible misconduct, conflict of interest, and alleged land-related intimidation.
Residents are appealing to the Lagos State Government and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to look into the matter, review any suspicious financial activity, and ensure that due process and public safety are upheld.
This situation has raised broader concerns about property rights and lawful dispute resolution in Lagos State.
