The African Democratic Congress, ADC) governorship primary election in Plateau State had yet to commence in several local government areas as of 1pm on Thursday due to the non-arrival of electoral materials.

DAILYPOST observed that party members and officials in Jos North and Jos South local government areas were “still waiting for materials before the commencement of accreditation and voting.”

In response to the issues, the Plateau State chairman of the ADC, Hannatu Gagara, confirmed the delay in a telephone interview with our correspondent, attributing it to “the late arrival of electoral materials for the exercise.”

“We are still expecting the arrival of electoral materials, but we are optimistic that the primary election will be conducted today,” Gagara said.

Despite the delay, party supporters remained at various designated centres awaiting further directives from party officials as anticipation continued to build around the governorship primary exercise across the state.
