
38-year-old Sidot Ekpenyong has been dragged to an Ogbeson Magistrate Court, Benin City by the management of a Table Water company for allegedly conspiring with five others at large to maliciously damage the tyres of the company’s vehicle valued at about N600,000,00.
DAILY POST reports that the case with suit number Mogb/20c/26/A 2026 was instituted against the defendants by the Chief Executive Officer of the table water, Ifeanyi Bright Oluoma.
The defendants were charged with three-counts bordering on unlawful assault, malicious damage and conspiracy.
The charge sheet read:” that you Sidot Ekpenyong ‘M’ and five others now at large on the 14th day of January 2026 at Benin/Agbor road, Okhuaihe community, Benin City in Ogbeson magisterial district did unlawfully assault one Emeka Martins ‘M’.
“That you Sidot Ekpenyong and five others now at large on the aforementioned date and place in the aforementioned Magisterial district did conspired together to maliciously damage the back tyre of a Dyna truck with Reg no- UBJ 637 ZY values the sum of N600,000 belonging to one Ifeanyi Bright Oluoma ‘M’.
“That you Sidot Ekpenyong and five others now at large on the aforementioned date and place in the aforementioned Magisterial district did conduct yourselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by towing a Dyna truck with Reg no- UBJ 637 ZY with full load of Oloma table water value the sum of N140,000 property of one Ifeanyi Bright Oluoma ‘M’ from Okhuaihe jurisdiction to Chinese Civil and Engineering Construction Company, CCECC, Ahor community.
The charge sheet said the defendants committed offences punishable under section 172, section 353 and section 184 of the
criminal laws of Edo State of Nigeria 2022.
When the case came up for mentioning on Thursday, February 12, 2026, the Police prosecutor, Rufus Pereware, urged the presiding Magistrate, Mrs Nwoha to adjourn the matter as one of the complainants, Emeka Martins, was not in court on health grounds.
Pereware, said since he was assaulted, Emeka Martins had been in the hospital receiving treatment.
He expressed hope that he would be fit enough to come to court in the next adjournment date.
Magistrate Nwoha, however, adjourned the case to March 19,2026 for hearing.
