Man allegedly lures underage IDP to Benue guest house on pretext of giving her food items

A Makurdi guest house manager, Michael Aaron, has rescued an underage girl who was allegedly lured to the facility by a man under the pretence of giving her food items.   Aaron, who disclosed this in a Facebook post on Monday, June 8, 2026, said findings revealed that the minor is an Internally Displaced Person (IDP) from the IDP Camp in Daudu.  The girl and her family were displaced when herders attacked their village.  According to Aaron, the man fled when he was about to call authorities to get him arrested.  How can a grown up man in his right senses take such child to a guest house to make out with her. Thank GOD that I was around to save the situation because I am the manager of the guest house and we don't allow underage there, he wrote. "After pressing and investigating, I found out that the man lied to her to come and get some food items inside Makurdi town and this child is from IDP Camp in Daudu, people who where displaced by Fulani herdsmen in Benue State.  "The guy ran off when I was going to call immigration to arrest him. "I've taken her back to her place and gave her something to buy food stuffs. Parents please do not send your children to a place where their safety is not guaranteed.
