Meta is reportedly developing an AI-powered pendant that could begin testing within the next year, signaling the company’s continued push into the rapidly evolving wearable technology market.
According to an internal memo obtained by The Information, the device forms part of a broader effort to expand Meta’s portfolio of artificial intelligence-powered hardware beyond smart glasses.
The reported pendant is expected to build on technology from Limitless, an AI hardware startup acquired by Meta in late 2025. Limitless became known for its wearable pendant that could be attached to clothing or worn around the neck, enabling users to record conversations and interact with AI-powered features designed to assist with memory and productivity.

Meta previously said the acquisition would help accelerate its work on AI-enabled wearables, an area increasingly viewed as a potential successor to smartphone-based computing.
By embedding AI into devices that can be worn throughout the day, the company hopes to create more natural and continuous interactions between users and digital assistants.
