Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have recovered the body of a 27-year-old commercial motorcyclist who was allegedly k!lled by suspected motorcycle snatchers in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. Security sources said the discovery was made at about 6:15 a.m. on June 30 after troops of Sector 8, Sub-Sector 81, Gyambwas, responded to a report of a corpse found between Angwan Baraya and Sagani villages. The sources said the troops, working in conjunction with police personnel from the Keystone Gindiri Division, arrived at the scene and found the victims body bearing multiple machete cuts. A search of the surrounding area led to the recovery of a mobile phone believed to belong to the deceased. Using the phone, the security personnel contacted the victims father, Mr. Muhammadu Sheko, who identified the deceased as Haruna Muhammadu, 27, of Changal Village in Mangu Local Government Area. Preliminary investigations indicated that the deceased was a commercial motorcyclist who had recently purchased a new motorcycle before he was allegedly attacked and k!lled by suspected motorcycle snatchers, who made away with the motorcycle. The body was evacuated by police personnel from the Keystone Gindiri Division and released to the family for burial. Security sources said efforts were ongoing to track down and apprehend those responsible for the k!lling and theft of the motorcycle. They urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support efforts to combat violent crime in the state.The post Motorcycle snatchers k!ll Okada rider, steal his new bike in Plateau appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
