Former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has criticised the Federal Government over reports that only N36 million was released for the health sector in the 2025 fiscal year.
Sani described the development as unfortunate and a sign of unseriousness.
The former lawmaker, who represented Kaduna Central in the Senate, made the remark on Friday via his verified account on X.
He said if it was confirmed that just N36 million was released for the health sector in 2025, it would amount to a demonstration of lack of seriousness in addressing critical healthcare needs in the country.
He added that the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, should provide a full explanation on the matter.
Sani wrote: “If it’s confirmed that only N36 million was released for the health sector in 2025 then it’s unfortunate and a demonstration of lack of seriousness in the health sector.
“The finance minister needs to fully respond to this.”
