Niger Pilgrims’ Welfare Board announces death of pilgrim in Makkah

The Niger State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board has announced the death of one of its pilgrims, Salisu Ibrahim, in Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to the Board, the deceased, a native of Kontagora Local Government Area of Niger State, died from injuries sustained in a road traffic accident.

The incident reportedly occurred at night while he was returning from the Holy Mosque.

In a statement issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Jibrin Usman Kodo, the Board expressed deep sadness over the loss and extended its condolences to the family of the deceased, the people of Kontagora Local Government Area, and the Muslim Ummah.

The statement noted that Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim, aged 43, was buried in Makkah on Friday in accordance with Islamic rites.

The Board prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family the strength to bear the loss. 

It also reassured the public of its continued commitment to the welfare, safety, and well-being of all pilgrims from the state.
