Nationwide League One, NLO, will clubs in the promotional playoffs to register a maximum of five non-league players for the post season tournament.
The league organisers stated in a circular signed by Temitayo Egbaieloye .
NLO said the restriction is designed to ensure a fair and competitive environment while protecting the league’s developmental structure.
The playoff is scheduled to run from Thursday 2nd to Tuesday 7th July 2026.
NLO described a “non-league player” as any individual not currently registered on an official league roster before the playoff transfer deadline.
The league warned that any club found fielding unregistered players or failing to register them properly will face immediate disqualification.
