A fresh controversy has erupted in Nollywood after actress Lizzy Gold publicly called out her colleague, Ekene Umenwa, over allegations that she made disparaging remarks about her and other industry figures.

The drama began when upcoming actress Adanma Waller shared a video online accusing Ekene of speaking negatively about several colleagues within the movie industry.

Among the names mentioned in the viral clip were Ruby Ojiakor, Chioma Chijioke, Uche Nancy, Chinedu Isaac and Lizzy Gold. The video quickly gained traction across social media platforms, triggering heated reactions and widespread speculation.

Reacting to the claims, Lizzy Gold took to her Instagram page on Saturday to address the matter directly. In a strongly worded post, she accused Ekene of allegedly spreading false stories about her personal life in a bid to elevate herself at the expense of others.

According to Lizzy, Ekene allegedly claimed that she has body odour and that her two children are from different men. The actress firmly denied the accusations, describing them as baseless and malicious. She maintained that people within the industry are familiar with her character and personal hygiene, dismissing the claims as fabricated attempts to damage her reputation.

She stressed that spreading unverified claims about someone’s personal life is unfair and harmful, particularly in an industry where public perception can significantly influence careers.

In her remarks, Lizzy criticised Ekene’s public persona, suggesting that it does not align with the behaviour allegedly attributed to her. She advised her colleague to reflect on her actions and seek forgiveness if the accusations prove true.
