The Northern States Governors’ Forum, NSGF, has expressed profound sadness over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing his death as a significant loss to the nation.

In a statement signed by NSGF chairman and Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the Forum paid tribute to Buhari’s remarkable life, highlighting his discipline, integrity, and commitment to public service.

Governor Yahaya reflected on Buhari’s distinguished career, noting his leadership roles as a military officer, Head of State, and president.

He praised Buhari’s steadfast leadership and patriotic dedication, describing him as a mentor and moral compass who championed accountability, transparency, and good governance.

Governor Yahaya offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Daura Emirate, the people of Katsina State, and the entire nation, while praying for the former President’s soul to rest in eternal peace.

“Buhari mentored with humility, He governed with courage, and lived a life marked by simplicity and patriotism.
His death has created a vacuum that will be felt across every sector of our national life.

“We pray that Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives all his shortcomings and grants him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus,” the statement concluded.
