Bayelsa United head coach, Meremu Okara, has blamed wet pitch at the Samson Siasia Stadium for his side’s defeat to Kun Khalifat FC.
The Prosperity Boys suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Kun Khalifat FC in Yenagoa on Sunday.
Okara described the loss to the modest side as unfortunate.
“It’s very difficult, this was not what we negotiated for, I think the wet nature of the pitch didn’t help matters,” Okara stated in a post-match interview.
“We just have to kick and kick but aerially in our defense they were stronger, the difference is they score two goals and we score one which was very unfortunate, a bitter pill to swallow.”
The former league Cup winners dropped to 13th position on the NPFL table with 11 points.
