Rivers United have commended their players for the second-placed finish in the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
The Pride of Rivers said the players showed resilience, determination and discipline throughout the season.
Rivers United also secured a CAF Champions League ticket during the campaign.
“The season has now concluded and we are proud to announce that Rivers United finished as runners-up, securing a CAF Champions League spot once again,” Rivers United wrote in a statement at the end of the season.
“This achievement reflects the resilience, discipline and unity displayed by our players.
“We narrowly missed the title, and competing at the highest level and challenging for it until the final weeks reaffirmed the standard and ambition that define this club.”
Rivers United, however, congratulated Rangers for emerging champions of the season.
“While the ultimate prize eluded us, we accept the result with grace and respect for the champions.
“Our focus remains clear, to build on this foundation, address our shortcomings and return next season with greater resolve to bring the trophy back to Port Harcourt.”
