The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bauchi State Command, has deployed 1,100 personnel across communities in the state to ensure the safety of lives and property during the Easter celebration.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the command’s spokesperson, Saminu Yusuf, said the deployment covers all 20 local government areas of the state.

He explained that the State Commandant, Oloyede Nelson, approved the deployment while addressing officers and men of the command, citing the public holidays declared by the Federal Government for the Easter period.

According to Yusuf, the personnel include officers in uniform for visible operations and others in plain clothes for covert assignments.

He added that the officers were drawn from various departments, units, area commands, and divisions to provide adequate security at worship centres, celebration venues, and other strategic locations.

The spokesperson noted that the command would also focus on the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure throughout the festive period.

He said the commandant congratulated Christian faithful and personnel of the corps, wishing them a peaceful and hitch-free Easter celebration.

Yusuf further quoted the commandant as urging residents to use the period to pray for sustained peace, security, and prosperity in the country, while also calling on the public to remain vigilant and law-abiding during and after the festivities.
