Odumodublvck sparks major controversy after publicly calling out M.I Abaga on social media

The Nigerian rap scene erupted in drama over the weekend after fast-rising rapper Odumodublvck publicly lashed out at hip-hop legend M.I Abaga in a fiery social media post.

The Abuja-born rapper, whose real name is Tochukwu Ojogwu, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, November 1, 2025, to announce that he had lost all respect for M.I, using harsh language that quickly ignited widespread controversy.

In a series of posts that tagged M.I Abaga directly, Odumodublvck wrote: “.@MI_Abaga as for you. The whole world are going to be shocked that I am talking to you like this and I know they will come for me because you are very good at portraying the ‘good’ guy. One thing they did not tell you is that I don’t care about public opinion unlike you.”

He went on to accuse M.I of choosing neutrality during a conflict that involved “a blatant lie,” claiming the veteran rapper decided to “sit on the fence” to protect his carefully curated image. Odumodublvck ended his tirade with a flurry of insults, calling M.I a “short man devil” and “rat,” before declaring, “You no be my OG. I bet you won’t reply because I am saying the truth.”

The explosive outburst quickly dominated social media, with fans and fellow artists weighing in on both sides. While some criticized Odumodublvck for disrespecting a man widely regarded as one of the architects of modern Nigerian hip-hop, others defended his boldness, suggesting that his comments reflect deeper frustrations within the industry about hierarchy and authenticity.

M.I Abaga, the award-winning rapper and co-founder of Chocolate City, has so far remained silent on the matter. His last public comments about younger artists came in July 2025, when he stated that he felt “no intimidation from the new generation” and challenged them to match his longevity and impact in the studio. Ironically, M.I had previously praised Odumodublvck’s rise, calling him “a strong voice for Nigerian rap.”

For now, the silence from M.I’s camp has only intensified curiosity about whether the veteran emcee will respond, or let his reputation speak for itself as the feud continues to divide fans across the Nigerian music landscape.
