The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has approved the recruitment of additional 1,000 personnel for the State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Corps Commander, Brig Gen Alade Adedigba (rtd.) and made available to DAILY POST on Monday.

The Corps commander stated that the recruitment is part of efforts to reinforce community-based security operations across the state.

DAILY POST reports that the 2026 recruitment exercise is coming after almost 1,300 new operatives were recruited by the Corps in the previous year.

Adedigba disclosed that the new intakes are expected to further deepen the operational capacity of the Corps across the 20 local government areas, particularly in rural communities, border corridors, and other vulnerable flashpoints.

He urged applicants to carefully review eligibility requirements, documentation guidelines, and physical standards before submission, stressing that the application window will be open from Thursday, February 26, to Friday, March 13, 2026.

“This recruitment initiative underscores the deliberate strategic security vision of the State Government, aimed at consolidating gains recorded in crime prevention, rapid response operations, and intelligence-driven policing at the grassroots, coming after almost 1,300 new operatives were recruited by the Corps in the previous year.

“Interested candidates are therefore invited to submit their applications, at no cost, via the official website: ogunstateamotekun.com.ng.

“The application window will be open from Thursday, February 26, to Friday, March 13, 2026, and applicants are advised to carefully review eligibility requirements, documentation guidelines, and physical standards before submission.

“Following the application phase, a thorough screening exercise is scheduled to take place from Monday, March 23 to April 8, 2026. Prospective applicants are encouraged to prepare adequately and follow the guidelines that will be provided to ensure a smooth screening process,” the Corps commander said.

Adedigba stressed that the hiring process is free, open and solely merit-based, warning members of the public not to fall for scammers or unapproved persons who demand money in relation to the exercise.
