Education advocate Alex Onyia has called for an urgent investigation into alleged cases of misconduct at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.

The development was disclosed in a statement posted on Onyia’s official account.

According to the statement, the institution has allegedly been linked to repeated complaints involving sorting, extortion, intimidation, robbery, rape, killings and other forms of misconduct.

Onyia urged the Anambra State Government to establish an investigation panel to look into the allegations surrounding the institution.

He further alleged that the current Vice Chancellor of the university has been accused of introducing an application that allegedly compels students to pay N15,000, while those who fail to comply are reportedly charged a penalty of N35,000.

“Students can’t continue to bear the brunt. Things have to change quickly,” the statement read.
