Human rights activist, Comrade Ighotegwolor Bezi, on Tuesday urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Federal Government to immediately order the arrest of Islamic cleric Sheik Gumi for his alleged “tacit support” for terrorists in the country.
He also hailed the collaborative strike on terrorist strongholds in Nigeria’s North-West region by the US Army and the Nigerian military.
“Now that both countries collaborated, I am in support,” Bezi said.
Bezi made the call in a statement sent to our correspondent in Warri, Delta State.
He stated, “He should be made to suffer for his tacit support for evil in the land. He should face a slow death.”
According to him, “If not for the laws, Gumi is supposed to be arrested, stripped naked, tied to two vehicles, and torn apart. But for the laws, he should be arrested and made to face the full wrath of justice.”
Bezi also pointed out, “Many Nigerians are in doubt whether the strike actually took place or not, just because there were no bodies for them to see. I believe there was a strike and that there will be more. I actually want to advocate for a proper strike on the so-called Sambisa Forest. All parts of the forest should be bombarded without mercy. I believe anyone killed in the process is a terrorist because, from reports, it is only the terrorists who inhabit the forest.”
He further called on President Tinubu to put measures in place to boost the morale of the Nigerian military and paramilitary personnel, who daily stake their lives to ensure peace in the country.
